Gratitude may be one of the most underrated actions in maintaining a good mental and physical health. After a lot of research done by various psychology sources, it has been proven that people who practice daily gratitude are happier and healthier, live longer, have improved self esteem, have more grit, sleep better, and MORE. (See Psychology Today and Harvard Health for the many more positive impacts gratitude can have on your life.) With something that is so easy to incorporate into your daily life that has so many benefits beyond what I listed here, why not give it a try? You do not have to be religious either! While having a religion and practicing gratitude simultaneously can be related and beneficial, it is a powerful tool for everyone. We should all incorporate into our lifestyles, especially with 2020 (that's right, 2020!!) coming so soon.

There are many ways to practice gratitude and implement it into your daily life. I found 4 ways to practice gratitude and 5 ways to express your gratitude to others that would be simple to accomplish each day.

See LifeHack or Forbes for many more ways to practice gratitude. You have to choose a few that are sustainable for your lifestyle and consistent with what you enjoy. It is also very easy to switch up how you practice gratitude, so if something isn't beneficial to you, then reevaluate what you're doing now and choose something better.

If you are a creative type, you could also make a gratitude tree each month or so. Pinterest has so many different and fun ideas for making them!
All in all, don't lose sight of why gratitude is important. Don't let it become a task for you to complete each day: have it be the highlight, what you look forward to, and something you enjoy. We all truly have so many blessings in our life, so it is important we recognize that and appreciate it.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! As cliche as it is, I am grateful for each of you and your support. Thank you for allowing me a space to do what I love. Have the best day with your family and friends, and take some time to pause be thankful!
All the love,
Caroline
