Indianapolis was the host city for Midwest soccer regionals this year, which was my reason for being there. Everywhere I go, I always research the best things to do and best places to eat at. I only go to a place if I find it on multiple sources! So, each place below was recommended by many and did not disappoint. I thought I would share my favorites with you in case you happened to be in town!
This place was super cute inside and out! It was a great environment with kind people and fun surroundings, being right off the walking trail at Broad Ripple Village. They had friendly workers and obviously, great ice cream. I loved the yellow cake batter ice cream and their waffle cones were yummy too! I would definitely go back.
Although it was a little loud inside, Bru Burger was worth it! The food was amazing, and the burger (Mexicali BBQ) was one of my favorites ever. It had great design and ambiance, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I wish we had one in KC!
There was a long line here, and I could see why! It is definitely a local favorite. I wanted to try all their doughnuts, cakes, and treats, but I only got a dozen doughnuts for me and my family. I got the blueberry and chocolate iced cake doughnuts... 10/10 would recommend. They might even have the best doughnuts I have ever had!
This was a great original dining experience and not one to be missed! Each menu item (even drinks) were hand crafted and eclectic. We really enjoyed the biscuits, pickles, grilled kale stems, and potato darphin. I had the chicken sandwich for dinner, and for not being a fan of fried chicken, it says a lot that I liked it!
We drove around this spot, and I am sad I didn't get to walk around and shop! It looked like there were great boutique type stores. Also, if you look at the website, they have great trails, a vintage styled movie theater, and year round festivals. This would be a great place to spend a day at!
I personally did not do any activities at the museum but my family did and enjoyed it! It is one of the top places to go in the city. The outdoor section, according to them, was the best part. The only downside was that it was expensive, which is why it ranks lower on my list.
I know Indianapolis isn't exactly a vacation spot, but if you ever happen to be in the area, you now have some great places to go! Let me know if you end up liking or trying any of them, and thanks for reading!
